My Story
My name is Colton Edson, and I've been part of Sonoma County’s construction industry since 2014. My journey began at GreenLynx, my stepdad’s deconstruction company, where I learned the value of sustainable building through salvage and reuse, rather than the wastefulness of traditional demolition. From there, I transitioned into residential construction, working with a local contractor on traditional builds and remodels.
I then joined a specialized team focused on steel construction for new homes, particularly fire rebuilds in Sonoma and Napa counties after the 2017 fires. We constructed custom homes using steel framing, insulated metal roofing, and siding, creating structures with superior fire resilience. This experience deepened my understanding of durable, disaster-resistant building methods.
After a knee injury, I took the opportunity to expand my skills, studying AutoCAD at SRJC. I then spent over two years as a draftsman with D.H. Charles Engineering, creating detailed plans for a variety of civil engineering projects nationwide. This role refined my drafting skills and broadened my technical expertise.
Today, with my contractor’s license and a commitment to quality, I proudly operate Colton Edson Construction. Whether you're looking for a reliable contractor or precise drafting services, I’m here to bring your vision to life.
Outside of work I am an avid rock climber, general outdoorsman and aspiring humanitarian. I often escape to the Sierra’s for climbing and backpacking trips and spend several weeks every summer in northwestern Montana where I grew up. I have a passion for exploration and travel and have been fortunate enough to travel all around the world in search of climbing, new cultures, and great food as well as bring my construction knowledge and skills to aid those in need. I was fortunate enough to make two trips to Poland to aid in rebuilding shelters for Ukrainian refugees in 2022 and look forward to creating future opportunities to bring Colton Edson Construction abroad again.
